Really? I didn't think it was that bad. There's been a few free big packets added lately.

If a packet has less than 50% success after its first day of being shared, that is likely a packet that hasnt been tested.

What do you mean tested? Surely all packets are ran through the dupe checker?

But I had thought there had been some half decent big sized free packets added recently. More than was added last month. Admitedly though I've not tried them all as I've been too busy with link dirs recently.

What are you saying though that people need to upload better packets?

Packets should be 100% dupe free and successful on the day that they are uploaded. It is natural that the success rate will deteriorate based on skill with Sick and changes to the forum but that is natural and expected.

you both guys have your share of truth. while i see no benefit in submitting here a raw scrape of 200 SMF sites where only 14 really work, with directories it´s a completely different story as the submission success very much depends on the category the sites fits in. An "ARTS" related site will have 50%+ success while "noetics" related one probably fails at 0.03%.

Please rest assured, this was not directed at anyone who has replied in this thread.

I am experienced enough to understand about the directories, and other things such as that.

Specifically, if you want to upload a packet, at least run the packet first and remove the dead sites.

If this doesnt apply to you then do not worry. If you have checked your packets before uploading, then this is not directed at you.

Not everyone has or can get SB so this is not possible. Plus, SB is far less than 100% accurate. It's your job to make sure that you system is secured. That said, obviously if someone gets a virus from a packet they should try to determine which site it came from and remove it.

Well, the truth is that I actually never got malware with a packet from someone else. Maybe there are no such packets here.

With my own scrapes I run into problems occasionally and it slows down the process substantially. I use paid AVAST (home?) version on my PC and few times I´ve got a very resistant piece of malware. I usually use spybot, malwarebytes and combofix to fix the things. Usually only combofix can fix the problems 100%. I am not associated with them and they are a freeware...

Maybe this can be a future feature of sick just like SB I think there are few APIs that can be used.
